Please note that the ICRT is an accrediting body and membership organization. Our Center Licensed Teachers are licensed to use our name and our logo. They are not employed by the ICRT and teach their classes as independent business people responsible for scheduling their own classes, collecting class fees, and setting up class locations etc.

Our
Center Licensed Teachers program is an advanced curriculum of study that
takes at 1-3 years to complete. One must be a teaching Reiki Master for
at least a year before applying to the program.
The program includes taking all our classes, reviewing all our classes,
taking a written examination, passing a psychological test, writing a
paper and documenting a minimum of 100 complete Reiki treatments. Then
you must co-teach each class before teaching on your own.
The
advantages of our program are that the increased study will improve your
ability to teach, helping you to be more professional in your presentation,
thus producing better students. In addition, you will become associated
with an International Reiki organization, and be able to advertise your
classes in our newsletter and on our web site. The feeling of support
and camaraderie is also a wonderful experience.
Our
licensing program is not a state or government licensing. In our program,
you become licensed to represent the Center and to use our name - The
International Center for Reiki Training and our logo.
To maintain their license, each teacher must review classes at least once
a year and turn in class reviews from each student in classes they teach.
They agree to support the Center Philosophy and Purpose and the Reiki
Ideals and agree to be working on their own personal healing. They also
agree to abide by a code of ethics and minimum teaching standards.
These high standards allow our Licensed Teachers to provide quality Reiki
training that is consistent and verifiable. Our high standards have also
helped us become qualified to offer Contact Hours for nursing through AHNA, and
Contact Hours for massage therapy through NCBTMB to students who take our classes.
In addition, our high standards provide the basis for our plans to interface
with the medical community including working in hospitals and doctor's
offices.
Please note that all Center classes are taught by Center Licensed Teachers who are independent business people. All class fees are paid to the teacher and are not paid to the ICRT.
The full program guidelines manual and application forms are available

Learning
More
As of April, 2001, the program
has been reorganized, and we are very pleased with the results. A 76 page
manual is now available for downloading. See the bottom of this page for
instructions. This manual details
the program requirements, benefits and application process.
Due to the volume of inquiries we receive, we are no longer able to accept
phone calls, or answer general questions on the phone about the program.
If you are interested in our program, please download the manual and read
it first before sending us any questions. However, once you have read
the guidelines manual and are interested in applying, it will be possible
for you to contact our Program Director, Laurelle Gaia and our Program
Administrator, Beth Stapor by email or phone. They will be happy to help
you. Their contact information is in the manual, so please download and
read it if you are interested.
If you have been a teaching Reiki Master for at least a
year, can provide professional and personal references, and are committed
to teaching Reiki you may be a candidate for our Teacher’s Licensing Program.
Notice - Not Accepting Applications
Due to the popularity of our program, we are not currently accepting applications. Please check this page for updates to this status.
Frequently
Asked Questions
Q. Do I have to take all my classes from a Center Licensed
Teacher? I already have training from another school.
A. Yes. This is because our teachers are required to teach
the ICRT program. The only way to learn how to teach our program
is by attending our classes.
Q. Will you make exceptions for teachers who have a lot of experience?
A. We cannot make exceptions to any of our program requirements. This
is because we offer CEs and CEUs to professionals. This accreditation
requires us to assure the associations who offer credits that all of our
teachers have identical training. Our ability to maintain our CE/CEU provider
status depends on this. However, we do value your previous training.
Q. How many applicants are accepted each year?
A. We are currently accepting 10 new applicants a year.
Q. Will there be someone to help me through the program?
A. Yes, you will have a mentor/teacher, and you will also receive
assistance from our Program Director and Administrator. We are here to
help you.
