Mission Statement
The Center for Reiki Research is dedicated to gaining acceptance for the practice of Reiki by the medical community by persistently using rigorous professional and scientific methods. This goal is meaningful to us because those in hospitals or clinics are often people who have the greatest need for the therapeutic value Reiki can offer. In order to maintain our high standards and to achieve our purpose in a healthy and mutually supportive way we focus on the use of Reiki energy and principles in all our activities, both within our group and with all those with whom we work and interact.
Ongoing Activities
-
We maintain a list of published peer-reviewed research involving Reiki and provide critically reviewed summaries of each study.
-
We provide a list of over 60 hospitals, medical clinics and hospice programs in which Reiki is offered to patients as a standard part of patient care and we include a detailed description of each program.
-
We conduct rigorous Reiki research studies and publish the results.
-
We encourage others to conduct rigorous Reiki research studies by providing research guidelines and information about the current state of Reiki research. A branch of the CRR also provides a research consultation service.
-
To educate the public and the scientific communities about the current state of Reiki research and provide seminars to train people in the introduction of Reiki into medical settings.
