My animal friend Jackson (a four-year-old dog) was hit by a car. He was in a lot of pain and limped on his right side not able to put any weight on his back leg. We took him to the vet for x-rays. We were told his hip was dislocated and he had sustained significant muscle and, possibly permanent, ligament damage. They tried to re-set the joint a number of times, but it continued popping out. At the end of the week we were told at best he would be lame on that side.
For the first week, my partner, who is also a Reiki practitioner, and I gave Jackson two to three treatments on the affected joint and surrounding muscle tissue and ligaments, and we continued this routine for the next four to six weeks. Slowly, Jackson began to put more and more weight on his back leg, and after about three months had completely recovered. The vet, suffice it to say, was delighted. He also mentioned that in some rare cases with such an injury an animal can form a false joint, but he had never seen nor heard of it personally, until now!
